Chelsea star Tammy Abraham recently joined his voice to the call of other football stars to end the security wing of the Nigerian police with the popular hashtag- #ENDSARS
There has been a nationwide protests on the streets of Nigeria and on social media calling on the government to end the ‘Special Anti-Robbery Squad’ (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force which attracted global attention. ALSO READ: IGP dissolves SARS nationwide.
The Special Anti-Robbery Squad’ (SARS) has been accused of brutality, torture, harassment and extra-judicial killings of the citizens in which many of the stars are already victims of.
Many stars like Arsenal star Mezut Ozil, Davido and Rashford were praised for joining their voices but things went the wrong way for Tammy Abraham. Remember that Abraham has chosen to to play for England over Nigeria where many thought he would have gone
Abraham used his verified Twitter handle to join the call to #ENDSARS twitting “#EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality” but fans mostly Nigerians reminded him that he has no business with Nigeria since he chose to represent England.
